I can only hope for the best for Mr. Wayne and his powerful friend. After all, I do owe him for giving me a fresh start. I know I don’t have a say in it but I would hate to see him living in the past. There always has been something about nighttime in Gotham, there is no getting away from that.
Master Wayne is an intelligent man though sometimes too smart for his own good I’m afraid. With all that’s happened I do think that he will ultimately find a way to live again.

Mmhmm. I think for the moment I’m opting for the second choice. I hope something comes of it.
Then I find myself in fine company miss seeing as how I’m retired. *He flashes her a smile.* I’m afraid it’s not entirely a life of leisure.

I’ve not been so popular in ages. Good evening to you miss.

I think that’d be good for his powerful friend. I wouldn’t say I know exactly the burden that Gotham holds over it’s dark knight, but I’d assume that it’s incredibly large. Maybe he’ll finally settle down, enjoy life with a wife and kids. But as you said, Alfred, that may just be a fool’s dream.
I should think it would depend upon whether or not his powerful friend finds the right woman… or should I say recognises he has now the opportunity to find out who might be the one for him.
I would not want for him to live looking backwards mired in past regrets.
Pardon me for being so philosophical. I’m afraid it’s coming upon my bedtime. I’ve grown to be a bit pensive in the evenings. There’s something about the nighttime in Gotham.

I suppose they have. But change is never easy, is it?
Not at all Mrs. Fries. All one can do is to either shape the change for the good or to step back and hope that the change will happen for the better.

Not at all, but I’m glad to hear you’re well. I suppose I’m good enough too, considering the circumstances. Things could certainly afford to improve.
I’m pleased to hear good news for once. I do agree that things can improve Mrs. Fries and I hold out hope that they will. It appears as though recent events have afforded Gotham something of a clean slate to work from.

This has turned into an eventful evening. Hello young miss.
Ah, good evening, -she smiled nodding her head in greeting, while inspecting the man curiously-
Pardon my manners miss. My name is Alfred. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

I tend to feel as if my own failure count is racked far higher in comparison. I’m sure they would be proud of all you’ve done, as you always have.
I can only pray they are sir. As to your record I reckon they would look more kindly upon that than you have. You’ve saved millions. It was too great a cost for me but I am selfish old man.

I pray that I’m right too, Alfred. I’ve got doubts as well, but I’m sure, with time, Mr. Wayne will return. Along with his powerful friend.

I hope that his powerful friend only returns in a mentor’s role and no more. You were so kind to say that I am not a foolish old man Miss Kyle but I still hold a fool’s dream of my charge enjoying his life for once. Truly and genuinely living and enjoying his life away from Gotham and the responsibilities she brings.
